Last week was a big week around my house as we prepared for our big, annual St. Patrick's Day party. It was exhausting work to get the house and food ready for our 25+ guests but by Saturday afternoon, everything was ready to go.
The buffet table was set up:
*sigh* No food yet... |
And of course, the bar was well stocked:
As friends arrived, Ma started setting out some delicious food like CHEESE and mussels and chips and more CHEESE. I stayed busy on cheese patrol to make sure each guest received their share (and just in case any fell to the ground).
Everyone was really having a great time...enjoying snacks (and sharing them with me), talking, laughing and drinking out on the patio, when all of a sudden Ma announced "The buffet is open!"
Well, being the terrier-ific host that I am, I led everyone into the house to get some food which included corned beef-cabbage-potatoes-carrots, bangers, shepherd's pie, and Ma's 'Paddy's Mac n Cheese' (which is made with imported Irish cheddar). *licks chops*
Look at all the deliciousness!!! |
"You want to give Oz the banger. You want to give Oz the corned beef." |

That mac 'n cheese sounds super yummy! Maybe you should post the recipe for your Mom. (OK...so maybe I just want my Mom to make it so that I can try to get some cheese for myself...) *snickers*

ReplyDeleteI love this post. Oz, you are the best writer! :) I'm glad you had such a good time! And if things don't work out with playing/sleeping/eating all day, you could always be a professional party planner/host, as long as your clients don't mind the occassional dog hair in the food! :)

Awesome, Oz. Congratulations on a great party!

ReplyDeleteWow, Oz, it sounds as though you are quite the amazing host!
ReplyDeleteYou should change your name to Yoda. Those Jedi mind tricks must have made a lot of people share their food.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a blast!
Hey Oz,
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being selected for stylish blog award on Dogtipper!
Love & Licks,
Phoebe Rose
Your Ma knows how to do a good party! I hope you helped with the "tidying up" of any leftover food!
ReplyDeleteFun and festive party! You were such a good host, sure hope you got some of that Mac & Cheese, and did Eric Go get you that well-deserved corned beef???!
