Cheese, Ice Cream and a Visit to Hogwarts

Ma and Daddy-dog went away to Orlando, Florida this past weekend and did NOT take me along. They said it was NOT a 'dog-friendly' trip. I believe there is no such thing but I did get to spend the weekend with Grandma...also known as the 'Treat Lady'.

Ma and Daddy-dog left on Thursday to drive the 3 hours to Orlando and once there and checked in to their hotel, they drove a little further into Winter Park to visit @DevilOnIceSkate's establishment - The Cheese Shop on Park. You know what?!? It turns out The Cheese Shop is dog-friendly if you sit outside - and what dog wouldn't want to visit a store that sells tons of cheese?!?

I mean, seriously...look at this cheese plate Ma and Daddy-dog ordered! What dog wouldn't want that cheese plate?!? *licks chops*

I cannot believe they didn't even save me some as a souvenir!  (To read more about The Cheese Shop on Park, and the delicious cheeses tasted, visit the post on my other blog by clicking here)

WTD?! Where's the cheese??
Thankfully, I was with Grandma and she took me here:
The Dairy Queen in New Smyrna Beach, Florida (I went on my own, dog-friendly weekend with Grandma and Grandpa to their golf course). Jason, the owner of the New Smyrna DQ, has "Bark Sundaes" on his menu - a sundae just for dogs! It was delicious - vanilla ice cream with a milkbone biscuit on top. (So there, Ma and Daddy-dog! Grandma is still the reigning 'Treat Lady'.)

Ma and Daddy-dog spent the second day of their trip here:

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios/Orlando's Islands of Adventure.

There were Hippogriffs, Dragons, phoenixes and owls there which I think would have made for a few fun games of chase. Ma and Daddy-dog even ate at The Three Broomsticks and once again, didn't save me any food as a souvenir...not even a pint of Butterbeer!

At least they brought me back something - it wasn't cheese or food, but it's still pretty cool.

What should I name my Harry Potter owl?
My very own owl. Maybe now I can send mail directly to my friends instead of having to leave peemail everywhere. BOL

Hope you had a treat-filled weekend too!

  1. Well it's sad that they lied and then went to a dog friendly CHEESE shop. You are taking this very well. I guess those bark sundaes helped.

You could name the Owl "Cheese"!

  2. The bark sundae really helped my mood regarding this whole "dog-unfriendly" vacation the humans supposedly went on. I would have loved some cheese tho, too!

  5. Depriving a doggie of cheese is very bad. Aschiuta would cry and bounce and give paw for just a little piece.

I'm glad you had fun with "Treat Lady" while the rest of the family was out drinking butterbeer. I had no idea they opened the castle for visitors, that's a great idea!

  6. Winnie, the ice cream was the best!

And Rumblepurr, I am sure if you went to DQ they would give you a Meow Sundae - you don't want that stinky milkbone, right?!?

Rubie, you would think the humans would have learned by now to smuggle home some cheese for the dog!

Lavi, that Hogwarts castle at Universal is actually a ride, 'Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey'. Its a pretty cool ride you just have to wait on line for forever to get on!!
