On Saturday, Uncle Robbie joined me, Ma and Daddy-dog for a relaxing bike ride around one of our County parks, John Prince Park in Lake Worth, FL. John Prince Park is the second-oldest park in the State of Florida and is named after the Palm Beach County commissioner who fought to create the park in 1937.
The bike paths through the park REALLY are called 'The Waterfront Wizard of Oz Ride' because of all the weird Banyan trees that grow along the path across from the lake. (What a cool ride for a Cairn Terrier to take, don't you think?!? After all, Toto was a Cairn!!)

We took a break underneath the Banyan tree and I convinced Daddy-dog to take me along the lakeshore for a good sniff around.

Then it was back on the bikes! The bike path ended at a main road, and though usually you would ride along the sidewalk back to the park entrance, we couldn't because there was road construction (and they removed the sidewalks)! We turned around and road back the way we came. All in all, it was approximately a 9.5 mile ride.
I grabbed some shade under the truck while everyone loaded their bikes back onto the rack.
We then headed off to Brogue's Irish Pub in downtown Lake Worth for a relaxing lunch. It is a dog-friendly pub and you can read all about our lunch here at Taste Tested by the Dog!
It was a great day! I had so much fun biking and exploring the park.

What great Peeps you have Oz to take you out on a day like that. Did you run alongside all the way or did you have a lift on the bike? Either way it sounds great fun, the pub at the end sounds great too - what a day. Dex & Lou x
ReplyDeleteOh, I ride on the back of Ma's bike. You can see my 'basket' in the "Starting park investigations" photo. The black "dog bed" with the reflective orange stripe...that's MY basket! I hang ten out the side and let Ma do all the work. BOL
ReplyDeleteHi Oz! Thanks so much for stopping by my party! I am your newest follower as well!
