Adopt-A-Less-Adoptable-Pet Week: Day 1

This week, September 17 - 23, 2012 is "Adopt-A-Less-Adoptable-Pet Week" at Petfinder.  Petfinder's member shelters and rescue groups have nominated their very special (and "less adoptable") pets who are awaiting forever homes.

What makes a pet "less adoptable"?

Well, it could be that they are older or shy or have medical needs.  These pets can sometimes wait for a forever home four times longer than the average pet.  Some have even waited over two years!!!

Do you have room in your heart for one of these "less adoptable" pets?

I will be sharing some of these "less adoptable" pets with you ALL WEEK.

Today, I will share a couple with you from my "neck of the woods" - Southeast Florida.  You can click their name to go to their page on Petfinder!

Sigh...this first doggie doesn't even have a name.

  4. Gosh, a dog should always have a name. I dub that dog "Pudding". So there.

They are all just diamonds in the rough - hope someone sees them for the beautiful, loving dogs they are!

    1. Pudding! I love it! I hope someone adopts them all. It is so sad to think they do not have a forever home.

  5. Hey Oz, Jet here.

What a noble cause. All of us at Casa Jet fit into the category: Koko was older, I was black and older, Puffy and Fluffy were older and abused, and JJ is older (though you would never know she's 6 ish with her energizer bunny batteries!)

  6. All pets should just be "adoptable." Our hope is that some day, the "less" label is no more.
