I was wrong!
We still do not have a Christmas Tree up - and I bet Ma and Daddy-dog think it's a bit late now to get one, so I have to go without a tree this year! Also, my stocking is still not "hung with care" in its rightful spot (but it better be hung soon or some people are going to have an ornery terrier on their hands!).
So, you ask...what was all this "getting ready for the holidays" about then? Well, it seems that Ma and Daddy-dog think I have been looking a bit like a 'long-haired hippy' lately which can only mean one thing:
time for a stripping!
I personally like my longer style and think I rock it out pretty well.

However, "they" think I am much cuter when I am groomed. *sighs* Ma doesn't like when she can't see my eyes...she is always asking, "Where are you, Oz?!" until she brushes back my eyebrow fur and then she says "Oh! There you are!". (Yeah, here I am...I've been trying to hide from you behind these eyebrows but I have been foiled again!)
So, Ma and I spent the other day in "grooming mode" - she with the brush, comb, etc. and me trying to flee and find a hiding spot! She won and now I am groomed and ready for the holidays.

Ma says I look handsome now (what's that supposed to mean?!?). She also says I look younger when I am groomed properly.
What do you think? Am I ready for the howlidays?!?

DeleteWell Oz, I must admit I like the "before" you better..but then I do rock the "scruffy all over" look myself...Every time mom thinks about a 'real grooming" her friends tell her that in my heart I'm a scruffy dog and she should let me be...Whew! I love mom's friends - Gizmo

Gizmo: I feel the same way!! I believe in my heart of hearts that I am a scruffy dog too and should look all disheveled all the time. Obviously, Ma has other ideas. *sighs*

ReplyDeleteDude, here's the thingie. You did Rock the long locks, however, you look younger and fresher with the shorter locks. I say, go with how you feel! We retriever/collie types do not require grooming in the same way, so, Mom keeps me au natural.

Delete*whispers* Actually, I don't mind the groomed version so much because I get lots of attention when I go out. AND...people think I am a puppy when I am groomed.
Maybe it's not as bad as I once thought...though sitting for all that grooming is an ordeal. I wish I could go au natural!
Okay Oz, the 'before' pic looks like you should roadie for a rock band. I LOVE it, butts the peeps usally like the 'Donnie and Marie' close=cut look. Go figure. I don't get it either. Just now, I have gotten just the right amount of stink goin' and Ma says I have to gets a bath on Sunday! Oh man. THEN ~ I have to gets my furs cut, too! Oh, the injustice of it all Oz....

Thanks Bunny!!! I feel like a rock star with that long hair sometimes...but so many of the humans coo over me when I am trimmed, so maybe having a trim once in a while doesn't hurt.
