I am the Real Deal

There are so many awards going around and I was lucky enough to be awarded another one from my good buddy Gizmo over at Terrier Torrent. 

I got the Reality Blog Award!  Thanks Gizmo!

Here's the rules for this award:

1) Visit and thank the blogger who nominated you - done!

2) Acknowledge that blogger on your blog and link back to them - done!

3) Answer 5 simple questions (These are simple?  Good grief.)

A) If you could change one thing, what would you change?
The sheets (No, I'm kidding.)  Some people's misconceptions about dog breeds.  I know a lot of the BIG dogs (Rotties, Shepherds, Pits, etc.) get a bad rap for being mean, scary, etc...but we little dogs get a bad rap as well (being yappy and snappy, etc.).  You wouldn't believe how many people are afraid of little ole ME (I think it is the big, white Cairn teeth housed in a dark coat - makes the teeth seem bigger and brighter - "the better to eat you with, my dear" - no, I'm kidding again).

Some people need to be taught that it is not always about nature (breed); it is also about nurture.  The way one raises their dog (of any breed) has a huge impact on that dog's personality and behavior.  Get educated before you get a dog!

B) If you could repeat an age, what would it be? Any year?
I'm only 8 years old you know...is someone trying to push me into a mid-life crisis with this question or what?

I don't know if I would want to repeat any age.  All had their good moments and not-so-good moments but I wouldn't change a thing.  All those experiences made me who I am and I am good with that.

C) What is one thing that really scares you?
Well, I'm a terrier and we are pretty brave, you know.  That said, as a terrier I tend to like my paws firmly planted on the ground...not paddling around in the water...so you could say I'm afraid to swim.  Oh!  I have been in the water and I have done my best doggie-paddle but I paddle myself right back to where I can get some solid footing!  And let's not even discuss the wave action of the ocean...water that chases you? No way I'm going near that!

D) What is one dream you have not completed and do you think you will be able to accomplish it?
I would love to someday publish a book of my poems!  Sure, I'm no Walt Whitman nor Robert Frost...and some people may think that no one would want to read poems written by a dog.  But it is my BIG dream and I hope one day I will be able to fill a book with poems that make other's smile.

E) If you could be someone else for one day, who would it be?
This one is easy...Toto from the Wizard of Oz.  Sure, I would save Dorothy and her friends from the Wicked Witch but I would have wandered off to meet the Horse of Another Color and to check that poppy field for possible bunnies (and you know there were bunnies all up in that field ripe for the chasing!).
