OK...so not "stuck on you" but definitely stuck on my house!
These two are another non-native, invasive species here in Florida (and the southern US) - Osteopilus Septentrionalis, better know as the Cuban Tree Frog. You can differentiate them from other tree frogs by the way they roll their "R's" when they say "Rrrrribbit". BOL
Happy Wednesday!
I've never had an issue with frogs, but ones that stick to the house might be where I'd draw the line.
ReplyDeleteOh, Bailey...these darn guys are everywhere! They do enjoy hangin' out on my house though.
DeleteCute little guys, but we always worry about the frogs down here in Florida because Daisy might try to eat one and we hear some are poisonous to dogs! They are fun to look at though!
ReplyDeleteThe tree frogs don't bother me too much because they are usually stuck up high somewhere. The Bufo Toads, however, are the ones on the ground...everywhere...and they are poisonous to dogs if you lick or bite them. They secrete a venom from their back so you gotta stay away from those!
DeleteI tried to gets my brudder to lick a frog once but he not fall fur it...guess him knows me to well huh?
ReplyDeleteHe wasn't a very smart frog I can tells ya dat.
Puddles
BOL Puddles! You are so mischievious. But you got to be careful which frog you lick because some are toxic!
DeleteOh now that's funny!!
ReplyDeleteI try, Roxy. I try.
DeleteHey Oz the Great, Jet here. Hi Miss Gina.
ReplyDeleteBOL!!! roll the rrrr's!!!! Good photo! We had a gecko of the grandpa variety in the garage this week. Mom asked him to eat all the bugs! Same color as the frogs. Did you hear about the python hunt?
Hey Jet!
DeleteWell, they are Cuban so I assume they speak Spanish and roll their rrrrrr's. BOL Yeah, we get those weird colored geckos too - when they get in the house, Mom freaks because of how they run!
I did hear about the python hunt! There's a LOT of hunters signed up! And of course, all the debates about how to humanely kill them...
Well at least they are not hanging around but they might stick for a while. Happy Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by our blog.
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday to you! Thanks for coming by my blog too!
DeleteYou guys ave all da luck my pal...we dussnt get nuffin of interest here cept burds and squirrels
ReplyDeleteBut you get foxes...and I never see foxes here! Think of all the poo I'm not rollin' in, pal!
DeleteWoof! Woof! Oh my look at those eyes. Happy WW. Lots of Golden woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteI know...they are shiny! We tried red-eye reduction but since the eyes aren't red, it didn't work. They're big eyes too...I guess the better to see you with, my dear!
DeleteWhat a thing to see! We've got invasive species that might be creeping into Lake Michigan - big, nasty fishies that jump out of the water. I say, smoosh those froggies! Purrs, Ateret
ReplyDeleteOh Ateret, if only you were here to help me catch and smoosh 'em! They're fast and can jump really far! It would take the two of us!
DeleteDo you bark at them? I bark when I see a frog in my yard!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Pepper
No, I don't usually bark at them unless they are on the sliding glass door. I bark at the big lizards though...like a lunatic!!
Deletethey're cute but I don't think I would be too thrilled seeing a bunch of them stuck on my house. Ewwww!
ReplyDeleteYep...mom doesn't really like them. they can jump really far and once, one mis-judged his jump and landed on her. Eeeek!
DeleteHi Oz, had to go read your "about me" page to see where you live that there are sticky frogs on the walls. Figured it must be FL! We used to live in Bermuda and we had sticky frogs and also lizards that would do push ups too. Miss those little critters!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog!
Jackie & Rita
Hi Rita and Jackie! Oh, so you must recognize these sticky littel guys! I can send you some if you miss them so much...I just gotta figure out how to catch them first!
Delete"Roll their rrrrrr's" Oz you jokester...that's a South
ReplyDeleteFlorida joke for sure...I know they're supposed to range this far north but we don't have them around our yard (yet) At least they're not as bad as the Bufo Toads...you read about dogs licking them and dying from the poison...scary stuff
Hey, Jet liked it! BOL
DeleteOh, we have those icky Bufo Toads too...I'm not allowed near them...poisonous, bumpy critters!
I love frogs. :) Got a tank of them in my lounge room.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, interesting. Do you have any of these? Do you want some? Free shipping! BOL
DeleteGlad I am seeing these in a pic and not in person!
ReplyDeleteThey're not as bad as you would think. You just have to walk slowly past them so you don't spook them...lest they JUMP!
DeleteRibbit - how cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol!
DeleteIf they lived by me I would try to play with them!
ReplyDeleteNubbin wiggles,
Oskar
Oh, Oskar...you are always so brave!
DeleteHahahahha... they roll their Rs....
ReplyDeleteAre they poisonous to dogs too? I think I've seen some on my apartment building, but they could just be some other invasive species of tree frog.
Christie from lifewithbeagle.com
I don't think they are poisonous to dogs. All I know is I am NOT allowed near the Bufo Toads! They are poisonous.
DeleteThey are sort of cute. Too bad they're a non-native, invasive species, though. :(
ReplyDeleteThey're not bad looking, I agree. In a photo they look cute. BOL
DeleteHow Scary!!!!
ReplyDeleteReally?!? They aren't that scary. They are pretty small compared to some other toads and frogs we have down here!
DeleteOh my! Beth would jump if she saw them! She is afraid of frogs....silly girl!
ReplyDeleteMa is just afraid of them when they JUMP! BOL
DeleteThose guys look like they are on the mission of their lives!!!! lol
ReplyDeleteI know...right?!? It's like you can hear the "Mission Impossible" music just lokin at them!
DeleteHi Y'all!
ReplyDeleteToo cute.
Stop by tomorrow for Follow Up Friday and a shout out to y'all.
Y'all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
Hi there!!
DeleteThanks for stopping by! I'll try my best for Friday!
How cool are they? Great new family members! :)
ReplyDeleteHave fun,
Your pal Snoopy :)
BOL! I don't know if Ma would agree with you on that.
DeleteWhen we lived near Orlando we were told to put those bad boys in the freezer. They're not good.
ReplyDeleteOh! I did not know that but I don't know if I want them in my freezer!
