...on vacation without me
Are you tired of hearing that a hotel doesn't allow dogs?
Do you believe that dogs deserve a vacation too?
Packed and ready to go!
If you answered YES! to the above questions then hold on to your leash because I have got the vacation planning website for YOU (No, not you, human...your dog)!
iLoveDogFriendly.com added a new hotel booking system powered by Priceline to their site to help pet parents (Really? Don't you mean dogs? BOL) plan the perfect dog-friendly vacation. The system has more than 98,000 dog-friendly hotels worldwide and you can see the hotel's pet policy right away with the "Pet Verified" and "Pet Friendly" icons.
What's that? You've never visited iLoveDogFriendly.com?
Well my friend, you have been missing out because it has always been a good resource for dog-friendly travel tips as well as dog-friendly restaurants, parks, attractions, dog events and travel news. Their catchphrase...Wet Noses Welcome...says it all.
You don't believe me? OK then, let's pretend it's still March and it is time for Spring Break. Why? Because I live in South Florida and you can come to the home of all Spring Breaks - Fort Lauderdale - and enjoy a nice vacation (P-A-R-T-Y) as well as visit me!
Meet me here; outside is dog-friendly and you can see manatees
So you head on over to iLoveDogFriendly.com and hit the homepage.
Type in "Fort Lauderdale" and 65...yes, you heard me...65 pet-friendly hotels are ready to pop up before you.
It's okay. Give your human the stink-eye right now. They deserve it for saying you cannot go to Fort Lauderdale when there are 65 pet-friendly hotels for you to stay in.
Enter in the dates of your trip and hit "Search". Now it's up to you to decide where to stay! You can sort your options by Most Popular, Lowest or Highest Price, Guest Score, Star Rating, Hotel Name or Promos First.
So you say, "Great Oz. I have a place to stay but what can I do while I am in Fort Lauderdale?" Well, for starters visit iLoveDogFriendly.com 's Dog-Friendly Florida page (State pages are at the bottom of the homepage). The page provides a few dog-friendly places for you to visit including some bars, brunch spots and dog parks.
Personally, I would love to see more added to the Dog-Friendly Florida page because I know there are FAR MORE spots for you to visit than what is listed here. (Maybe I can help iLoveDogFriendly.com add some more great spots for you to visit!)
But no matter, because by now YOU are IN Fort Lauderdale (thanks to iLoveDogFriendly.com) and you can just call me for an Oz Tour of Epic Proportions. BOL!
If you are still not convinced to visit iLoveDogFriendly.com let me add this: they are having a contest!
That's right...a Contest. Through May 31, 2013 you can enter their Eat/Play/Stay Photo Contest which celebrates the launch of the new booking system. iLoveDogFriendly.com wants to
"see pictures of your pooch eating at his favorite restaurant, playing at the park or staying at a dog friendly hotel. All breeds and mixes are welcome to enter, as long as the pictures were taken at a dog friendly establishment.
The winner will receive a Sunny Dog Ink First Aid Kit, which comes with more than 60 must-have items that are essential to carry when traveling with your pooch."
Guess what? I already entered. Woof-hoo! You will never beat my photo submission but I dare you to try! BOL
In my humble (great and powerful) opinion, the new iLoveDogFriendly.com and Priceline booking system is spot on! Even I didn't know there were 65 pet-friendly hotels in Fort Lauderdale. I do believe, however, that the Dog-Friendly State pages (well, at least Florida's) could use some updating and more input so dogs would know the great places they can visit while on vacation.
So what are you waiting for? Go book your vacation and let me know when you will be coming to town!

ReplyDeleteLucky for us, mom isn't much for going away, she has traveled too much in her life and likes to stay home but when she goes, she always tries to take us along as long as she is driving. There are more and more hotels out there that allow dogs!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! What a great post. I am starting to think "dog" again. We hope to have our Sheltie home next weekend!

ReplyDeleteHigh Paw!! Mom always brings me with her :)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Pepper
That's a pretty cool site! I'm impressed, and since Mom and Dad always take me along when they travel, I'm sticking it in Mom's favorites!
ReplyDeleteBunny
That is so cool, Oz! The mom and the dad here just stayed in a pet-friendly hotel in Los Angeles. They said it was fun to see all the dogs coming and going. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great idea for a site. It can take research to find dog friendly hotels when you travel. I will definitely check it out.
ReplyDeleteI like staying at dog friendly houses! Now that's my kind of vacation. A big house and I can cook, do laundry whatever I want AND enjoy time with my pups. I don't think Delilah would do so well at a hotel, too many noises. :-(
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this review! It's pawesome! We posted it on our FB page. :)
