My Friday Finds and a Decision or Two

OK...so yesterday I found out that no one wants to use the new Blogger G+ Commenting System and quite frankly, I don't blame you.  I had a hard time accepting the concept that only G+ users could leave pawprints on my blog.
Please don't stop leaving your pawprints.

In addition, the code that allowed me to have both types of comments didn't let the G+ comments LIVE on my blog - they went straight to my G+ homepage.  Seriously, like I want to check for blog comments in two places?!?  Like I don't have enough to do, what with guard duty and bunny chasing?!?

So, I have made DECISION #1:
I will not be using the new Blogger G+ Commenting System because I refuse to not have a conversation with my friends who do not have, nor do not want to use, G+ for comments.  I also removed that toggle code because I did not like checking for comments in two places.  So, we are happily back to where we started with the original commenting system.

A Side Note to +Blogger :
Why can't you just update the current system to include G+ users - but make it look like the new G+ comments (you know, because they look so much nicer)?  Oh, and while I am at it...while you are doing what I ask in sentence #1, could you please add a place in the comments for friends to leave their URL?  Thank you in advance for your efforts.

Earlier this week I posted yet another Limerick, as I am still backlogged with submissions from March (NO, I have not forgotten you Mollie!!!).  And of course, the other day I received (and said YES to) a Limerick Special Request from a friend (who shall remain nameless until such time that the Limerick is ready).

It has been my observation that even though it is no longer March, everyone still gets all happy and smiley when I post a Limerick, which leads me to....

DECISION #2:
March-ing Out the Limericks will no longer be a March nor St. Paddy's Day event.  It will be a regular part of my blog!!

That's right.  I will be writing Limericks until the cows come home or until I no longer receive any submissions.  So if you never submitted your "info" to inspire a Limerick but have always wanted to, then visit my new page "Inspire a Limerick" for instructions.

Have a fantastic weekend!

I second that, but will Google listen they tend to be a law upon themselves it would be nice if they consulted the public on what we want instead of just giving us what they think we want.

    1. Sheba and Ian: I don't know if Google or +Blogger will listen. One can have hope! The G+ commenting system looks so nice; I don't know why they couldn't integrate it all into one. But then again, I know nothing when it comes to all the programming and coding. I still say a dog can dream...

  13. I'm with you on the comments Oz - I took mine down too. I think it's a really cool idea that you are going to keep doing the limerick thing, you are a great poet!

  14. I bet you get a ton more limerick requests. :)

I am not opposed to G+ but I would have to figure it out.

  16. I missed your post yesterday, but from what you've written here, I totally agree about the G+ comment thing. I already rarely leave comments when a blog forces me to comment via Facebook (and FB only).

As you can imagine, I am THRILLED that you'll be doing limericks all the time and any time :-D I LOVE them. (And yes, those caps really mean I'm shouting!)

  17. Glad you kind of got your comments issue solved. Thing are constantly changing so maybe eventually G+ will do more of what you want.

  22. Both wise decisions! Wouldn't it be nice if Google would listen to our requests for blogger?? (I'd like a simple "prove you are human" button to help cut down the spam!) The things we want are not that hard!!

  23. Very well said Oz my pal....Blogger is always annoyin me wiv new stuff wot do not be improvements....

  24. As I said in my comments on yesterday's post, I'd like a universal commenter. That's all, is that too much to ask?
