Trying NutriSource Treats on Tasty Tuesday

Recently, the kind people at DogIDs asked me to try a sample of the NutriSource Super Premium Pet Foods dog treats.  Being a dog who never says "no" to food, I happily agreed to give them a try.

There are lots of different NutriSource treats to choose from including Grain Free Chicken, Fish or Liver Biscuits, Soft & Tender Treats in Chicken, Lamb and Salmon, Chicken Giblet & Sweet Potato Freeze Dried treats, and Pure Vita Hip & Joint and Immunity.

I chose the NutriSource Pure Vita Skin & Coat Dog Treats to sample.

They are made from one of my favorite ingredients - real salmon!  The treats are also enhanced with Omega 3 & 6 Fatty Acids, blueberries, pomegranate and Zinc Proteinate (a supplement that is important for supple skin and a shiny coat).

I had Ma open the package so I could check out my new treats.  They seemed a bit small in size but they had a wonderful aroma.  I could barely wait to taste them!

Please hurry...the treats are tempting me!

Did you see those three morsels in front of me?  Well, after that photo was snapped they vanished into thin air like magic!  (OK, so not like magic...more like a hungry Oz gobbled them up!  BOL)

The Pure Vita Skin & Coat dog treats were very good.  I even got a couple more, you know, with a little trickery.

I sit.  I stay.  I deserve a treat!

I will even dance if you just give me the treat.
Nabbed it!
I think in total I ate 5 or 6 of those treats during the course of the "photo shoot".  And then....Ma read the 'Directions for Use' on the package:

"Feed as a treat."  (We did that.)

"Give one treat per 10 lbs. of dog's weight per day."  (Ooops!  If that is the case, then I should only have had two.  BOL)

In the end, I decided to give the NutriSource Pure Vita Skin & Coat dog treats a rating of 3 out of 4 dog bones as they are very tasty but I can only have two per day (and we all know how I love to eat treats).

If you would like to try NutriSource treats, you can find them on DogIDs.com as well as on the NutriSource website.  Prices range from $2.99USD to $12.00USD with the majority of the treats being in the $2.99USD to $5.99USD range.  Not a bad price at all!

  4. They look very tasty Oz. You should have covered the label so mum didn't see how many you really should have got. Have a terrific Tuesday.

  5. I guess I could have 4 and my sister could have 8! I wouldn't worry about having to many for this post...you were working after all and you need compensation for your tasting as well as making sure that you taste enough to really know what you are barking about!

  12. OM NOM NOM. Only two a day? I like that there's a serving size on the bag. Little dogs just can't afford to have too many treats. But those are so tiny!

Oh, and hey, keep up the superb work! ;)

  17. Ooooh... salmon. We LOVE salmon! Woofs from Jeffie, Rudy and Rosie (who all think just 2 itty bitty treats like that per day is truly offensive!)

  20. Ring ringy dingy Oz the Great and Powerful is that you, Lee says she will get me the Pure Vita Hip & Joint to try. My front legs are deformed you know and this week I have started to refuse to go up and down steps. Lee will try anything to help me. OSU said I had too many bone issues to fix my legs. Well goodbye.

    1. It is I, Sir William. Ooh, let me know how the Hip & Joint treats are; I may need them some day. I did not know you had deformed paws, my pal. This is just terrierible...and now you won't go up and down the stairs?!? Thank goodness Lee will do anything to help you because she may have to carry you on the stairs! You take care of yourself, pal.

    2. Yep dysplasia of both front ankles the right front is the worse, when I walk my first nail is worn into the pad on my toe. That could be fixed but for the fact my shoulder joints did not form so I have very little socket joints.
I was so badly inbred ~ my mom is my sister from another litter and so is my grandma. I have all in the family genes. Lee backpacks me a lot.

    3. This upsets me so, Sir William. I too am a 'puppy mill' dog...I was the largest in my litter and they say I would've been 'marked' as a breeding male. Thankfully, the mill was broken up and Ma didn't care that I was too large for a Cairn. I have so many skin issues, it is ridiculous. Ma tries everything she can and has given up on actual 'medicine' to help for the long haul...there has to be something better. I am going to email you now...because I think Miss Amy's supplement could help you. Look for my pawprint in your Inbox, please.

  21. I think its good that it is small/ bite size. Yes, treats need to be controlled. I don't agree but its beneficial for our health. Belated Happy Tasty Tuesday. Golden Woofs, Sugar

  23. Good review, Oz! Those sound pretty tasty, but only TWO per day? :(

  24. They look yummy! I think that is the problem with fortified treats. If you want to give more, then you give extra "whatever" it is fortified with and you may not want to do that. I guess as an alternative to a pill, it is a good option. :)

  25. I have bought those before! They are yummy! :) High Paw!

  26. Hey Oz,

I'd be allowed 5 treats per day - Yay! :)
