I was given an opportunity to try some Halo Healthsome Vegetarian Biscuits recently and I was happily surprised at just how delicious they are!
You all know that I switched to a raw food diet, so Ma has been trying to find me some top quality, healthy treats that are not necessarily "raw". Little did I know we were going to switch up my treats and go...gasp...vegetarian!

The Halo Healthsome Biscuits are gluten-free, grain-free, oven-baked treats made in the good ole U.S. of A. from loads of fruits and veggies. Just check out the list of healthy ingredients:
Halo Healthsome Peanut 'n Pumpkin Biscuits Ingredients
Potato Flour, Whole Peanut Flour, Tapioca Flour, Pea Flour, Canola Oil, Pumpkin, Tomatoes, Apples, Sweet Potatoes, Cranberries, Carrots, Split Peas, Broccoli, Parsley, and Ascorbic Acid
Did you know that Sweet Potatoes are a great source of complex carbohydrates which give your body energy?! How about this....did you know that Parsley can freshen your breath?!
And the pumpkin...a great source of beta-carotene which is an antioxidant that helps prevent disease and infection. It can help keep your coat and skin healthy while also improving your eyesight!
To me, the best part of the Halo Healthsome Vegetarian Biscuits is the CRUNCH! These biscuits are super crunchy and can help keep my teeth nice and clean.
I give the Halo Healthsome Vegetarian Peanut 'n Pumpkin Biscuits 4 out of 4 dog bones for being very tasty, healthy and super crunchy.
You can find these Vegetarian Biscuits, as well as other Halo treats, at Chewy.com. The Halo Healthsome Peanut 'n Pumpkin Biscuits are regularly priced at $4.99 a bag (which is great because so many "healthy" treats seem to be far more expensive) but...they are currently on sale for $3.99 a bag.
If you enter Chewy.com's rafflecopter here, you can win either a $25-off or $50-off promo code for Chewy.com OR their August Treat Prize Package!
So, what are you waiting for?! I will race you to Chewy.com to buy more Halo Healthsome Peanut 'n Pumpkin Biscuits.

ReplyDeleteIf Rita likes crunchy then she will absolutely like them!
DeleteI think I would like these Peanut n' Pumpkin treats just as much as my two Cairns! Yum!
ReplyDeleteThey sound good don't they?
DeleteThose look like something we would love.
ReplyDeleteOh, I bet you would Roxy. They are so crunchy!
DeleteThose treats sound very yummy. We are looking into grain free treats for the pups, so this is something that we will have to look into. Thanks for the review!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. We have been trying to find good grain-free treats too. I really like these so we are definitely buying more.
DeletePeanut and pumpkin is a combo I have never thought of. I will have to see about baking something with that combo. Interesting!
ReplyDeleteOh, you must let me know if you come up with a recipe, Emma!
DeleteYum Oz! Would it be bad of me to sneak one for myself? That combo sounds delish! I don't think the boys would allow it though. Good for you getting your fruits and veggies! Bacon is overrated. Mehhh. Well. Sometimes I guess it's okay in moderation ;)
ReplyDeleteOh come on...nothing can replace bacon!!
DeleteI'm not a fan of vegetarian food or treats for dogs, but then I remind myself that some dogs have allergies to meat proteins AND what does a vegetarian treat hurt? So I climb down off my soap box, admitting that I know nothing, and then go back to enjoying your posts. LOL
ReplyDeleteBest of luck to everyone who enters the giveaway! I'm curious how our dogs would respond to the super crunchy treats. They don't mind crunchy, but sometimes when it's too crunchy, it's hit or miss with them :)
Well, you know we kinda agree with you Miss Kimberly but they were out of the duck flavored ones and the only other flavor was chicken...which I am allergic to. We thought we would try the vegetarian because they were also grain-free...and we much prefer to stay away from grains then from veggies.
DeleteBut, LOL...what do we know?!? I am so glad you keep coming by and that you enjoy my posts!
I think they sound tasty! Even for vegetarian treats. I try to give Shiner fresh veggies as treats every now and then but most of the time she just crunches them up and leaves a mess behind hehe.
ReplyDeleteMa thought I would do the same thing but these are actually pretty tasty. (Though you can see from the one photo above I did crunch it up into a big mess on my bed. BOL)
Deletewe did think those treats were pretty good
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
I would have to agree.
DeleteThose look & sound DELICIOUS!! Isn't "Halo" Ellen Degeneres (SP) pet food range?
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, I don't know about that?!?
DeleteI have to check those buiscits, antioxidants for my dog... sounds great! if they are good for people they can also be good for dogs, raw food diet is also great, I cook for my dog, I found some great reciopes online.
ReplyDeleteSome of my very good pals have fantastic recipes for dog's on their blogs!!!
DeleteYore advice and ho-pinions always very innerestin and elpful Oz my pal....fanks....
ReplyDeleteBOL Marley....glad you think so!
DeleteWoof! Great review! We love Halo treats!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a yummy treat. You look like your loving them!
ReplyDeleteI love that they're dog bone shaped! I'm sure that my boys couldn't care less about the shape, but they're still cute!
ReplyDeleteThose look yummy!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you really enjoyed thoes treats! The ingredients also seem to be really good! I will have to buy some for Joker one day!
