My Nina Ottosson Dog Tornado + #giveaway

Can you believe that I am almost 10 years old and I have never had a puzzle toy?  Well, not until recently that is...after Ma went to Global Pet Expo and met none other than Nina Ottosson, the creator of some great Dog Activity Toys.

Ms. Ottosson was super nice!  Ma spoke with her for a while about all the different toys she has designed that are meant to stimulate a dog's brain while reinforcing their relationship with people.  Since I have been deprived of such great toys in the past, Ms. Ottosson recommended I try the Dog Tornado.

Nina Ottosson Dog Tornado

The Dog Tornado has a level of difficulty of 2.  It has four layers of rotating bones and in three of those layers there are compartments where Ma can hide treats.  Once I rotate the bones, I reveal the treats and get a reward.

That sounds easy, right?  Well, once you get the hang of it there are little bone shapes that fit in the compartments to keep a layer from spinning.  This is when you really need to use that big dog brain...because you need to remove the little bone to be able to reveal the treats hidden in the rest of the puzzle.

Ma started by just adding one bone shape into one of the compartments.  I got stopped in my tracks for a bit and I really had to think about what to do!  BOL  As I get better at removing the little bone, then Ma will add another one so there are two...making it a bit more difficult.

Ma loves the Dog Tornado because it is plastic and completely washable!  I just really love playing with my Dog Tornado.  It is fun to sniff out the compartments filled with treats and then spin the toy to get at them.  See:

Nina Ottosson Philosophy

Ma and I love Ms. Ottosson's philosophy that a "dog has four legs and one head, and all five need activity in different ways - both physical and mental".  So true! 

Ms. Ottosson's toys:
