When the well is dry, we learn the worth of water.
--Benjamin Franklin
I know we focus a lot on hydration during the hot, humid
days of Summer but water is a nutrient that your body, and your pet's body,
needs every day of the year. Water helps
your pet:
- maintain the balance of bodily fluids needed for digestion, circulation, creation of saliva and regulation of body temperature;
- energize muscles;
- maintain skin health; and
- cleanse toxins through the body's own filtration systems.
That is why it is so important for your pet to have access
to clean, fresh water every day. My
friends at PetSafe agree which is why they have created an entire line of pet fountains that encourage your pets to drink more water.
I recently received the Drinkwell® Pagoda Fountain from
PetSafe in the new Himalayan Blue color (which was voted on by viewers during DIY Network's Blog Cabin 2014 show). The Pagoda
Fountain continuously recirculates 70 ounces of fresh, filtered water. It has an upper and lower dish to drink from
- however I am a bit too big to drink from the lower dish. I believe a smaller dog and/or a cat would
have a better time getting a drink from the lower dish.
The water in the Drinkwell Fountain is filtered through a
charcoal filter. The charcoal filter
features a duo-density pad that catches hair and debris while the charcoal
removes the bad tastes and odors from the water. There is also a Foam Pre-Filter that traps
large debris before it can reach the pump.
The filters do need to be changed every 2-4 weeks but they come in a
4-pack that only costs $10.
Daddy-dog was able to put together the Pagoda Fountain in
just a few minutes. The instructions for
installing the low-voltage 12V submersible pump were easy to understand. Once it was all together, Ma brought it in
the kitchen and plugged it in...and at first, I refused to go near it.
Now, after a full terrier inspection, I will drink from the
top dish. I will sometimes drink from
the streams of water on either side of the fountain but Ma says I make such a
mess that way.
If you think you would love to drink fresh water from a
Fountain, then you should definitely check out PetSafe's full line of Fountains
to find the right size, style and color!
PetSafe has other fountains like this one that are made of ceramic but
they also have stainless steel and plastic fountains too.
Do you think your dog or cat will enjoy drinking water
from
a PetSafe Drinkwell Fountain?
Post Disclaimer: I received
this Drinkwell Pagoda Fountain for free in exchange for an honest review. I also received other compensation - an
all-expense paid trip to PetSafe headquarters to attend the PetSafe Pawprint Pet
Blogger Summit - but Oz the Terrier only shares information we feel is relevant
to our readers. PetSafe is not

My mom loved this fountain as she saw it the first time at Madi's blog. We saw it later in a pet store and gues what happened?... I ran away like a lightning... butt please keep that secret :o)
ReplyDeleteThe fountain would be handy for the peeps but I prefer growling at mom when my water bowl is either near empty or empty.
ReplyDeleteAroo to you,
Sully
We love our fountain that we won, but Luke is the only one that drinks out of it consistently. We can't put it where our regular water dish is, because there's no outlet there....but if we did I bet they would all drink out of it. It's so nice not having to put fresh water in a dish every day though!
