As many of you know, I love road trips and I am always buckled in with my Sleepypod Clickit harness. I have never flown on an airplane, but I know some good blogging friends who have and they have had to be in a proper carrier.
No matter how you travel or where you go, it's always important to be prepared as well as safety-conscious. That's why I am sharing this great infographic by GoPetFriendly.com and PetHub.com. I believe it is from last year, so if you have seen it already...there's nothing like another little reminder!

ReplyDeleteThat is some excellent info Oz - we use our Bamboo Click-its when we are in the car - they are simply brilliant and we were so sad when they stopped making them. Thankfully they are so well made they still look like new even after 5 years
ReplyDeleteThat is very good information. My Mom used to work as a commercial pilot and said to add a couple of things to the flying information. She totally agrees on the "under the seat" and she said going in the back as cargo is terrifying for dogs and with what she has seen she would never do that to me, we'd drive.. But she said to remind peeps that once on the plane the under the seat dog can't come out of it's crate for ANY reason, so make sure they get to go potty (most large airports have a place pets can do that in the terminal). Also flying is dehydrating for doggies as well as peeps to make sure your pet gets extra water after you land.

ReplyDeleteWe hate our little "look out the window" box mom puts us in , we whine, cry and look at her wif tearful eyes, but hers has a hard hard heart and makes us stay in it....the only place we are traveling to today is the kitchen to our bed, when hers goes to work sigh....stella rose

Great post, Oz! Today my mom bought a security grid for the car :o) What a timing! I wish it would be more comfy for pets to travel with a flying machine, that would be great if I could visit you all without sitting in the cargo area :o)

ReplyDeleteI love this Infographic! We travel extensively via car w/ both our dogs and sometimes via airplane with my smaller dog who fits in a carrier under the seat. I'm amazed at how many times we've needed to use our first aid kit while on the road! Shih Tzu happens & I'm so glad we're never without it a first aid kit!
