You have to love Ellen DeGeneres! For the second year in a row, Ellen's natural pet food company, Halo, Purely for Pets, in partnership with Freekibble.com, is bringing pet philanthropy to the Oscars® swag bags with their "Feed it Forward" campaign.
The 20 non-winning nominees in the 5 top categories each receive a $160,000 "Everybody Wins at the Oscars" bag that usually includes luxury goodies like "glamping" trips and spa treatments. And again this year, the bag will include a certificate for 10,000 meals - the equivalent to $6,200 worth of Halo pet food - to donate to the shelter or rescue of the celebrity's choice!
Last year, top celebrities like Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, Barkhad Abdi and June Squibb took advantage of the donation for their favorite shelters. In total, Halo and Freekibble.com donated 200,000 meals on behalf of Oscar nominees!
This year, if the non-winning nominees choose to use their donation certificate, shelters and rescues will receive a donation of Halo Spot's Stew and their new line, Vigor, a gluten-free, easily digestible kibble for active dogs.
I don't know about you...but this is a great reason to hope your favorite celebrity doesn't win the Oscar this year! Even if they lose, they win BIG in our hearts if they choose to redeem the certificate to help feed shelter pets!

YES Ellen is VERY much generous about helping ... we just WISH that our furend Goose's Homeless Shelter that will be taking in PETS fur the night, also.... Could be one of the places chosen to receive some of that food... it would really be super to help the PETS of the HOMELESS. Being Homeless doesn't mean they are Heartless.... they would rather stay OUTSIDE with their pets if they are not pawmitted IN with their pawson.

I am a HUGE fan of the Oscars and I usually even make the girls "dress up"!! Special snacks are the norm here...I even watch the Pre Red Carpet Show and the After Parties! It is something I look very forward to each and every year!! Now...as for Ellen...I LOVE that she helps with animals SO much!! It is really terrific how much she helps the homeless...people and animals! Awesome stuff!!
