Daddy-dog is my very own April Fool! Yesterday was his birthday and we celebrated by going to the Jupiter Dog Beach.
It was a clear, beautiful morning so we were surprised that the beach was quite empty when we got there. It was like Ma, Daddy-dog and I had the beach to ourselves!
I walked along the water several times with Daddy-dog. I barked at the waves and ran away from them but I ended up getting all wet anyway (which meant a bath when we got home - sigh).
We are lucky that the Town of Jupiter supports dogs on beaches. You would think in South Florida dogs would be allowed on almost all the beaches, but sadly we are not. Jupiter Dog Beach is one of a handful of beaches that thinks dogs and humans should have fun in the sun together!
Daddy-dog even converted my Solvit Products bike trailer into a stroller so I had my very own resting spot. It was super helpful when we left because the sand was burning hot; I rode in the stroller and didn't have to burn my paws.
After the beach, we went to Five Guys for birthday lunch. We love Five Guys and their dog-friendly patio seating.
It was a great day...and I hope a great birthday for Daddy-dog! How you do celebrate your pet parents birthday?
Pawfect Oz, I finks you gave your Daddy-Dog the bestest Burfday evers!
ReplyDeleteHope he let you have some of his Burfday cake?
Loves and licky kisses

WOW...what a fun way to spend your Daddy's Barkday!! It's funny, Dogs are allowed on most of the beaches here in Northern California...but when Mama lived in New Jersey, humans got in BIG TROUBLE if they brought us doggies to the beach!

Wow a beach that a dog can't run on, what are humans thinking...it looks like you had the most super day wif your daddy.....cool wheels.

The reason that not every beach is dog friendly is probably because some owners don't pick up and bury the surprises in the sand.
ReplyDeleteA beach just for dogs? How pawesome! I see you got that Stroller Conversion Kit too!

Happy belated birthday to Daddy-dog! You have a pretty great Daddy-dog to have such a dog friendly birthday celebration Oz. Wilhelm, Brychwyn and Huxley are confused about why you had to have a bath after getting wet at the beach, though. I love it when the boys get the natural flea killing, fur softening and antiseptic power of the salt water all over them. Maybe you should come try out our Cascadian salt water some time!
ReplyDeleteSounds like an ideal guys day for your dad's birthday! Lucky you got to go on the beach too! Fort Myers isn't dog friendly at all which we don't like when we are there.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Daddy-Dog! mmmmmmm Five Guys! Mom & Dad like to go there too - sadly they have not taken us with them

What a great way to celebrate "Daddy Dog's" birthday! Happy Birthday to "Daddy-Dog!!" Yesterday was Cody's birthday too!
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to have a dog-friendly beach (even if there are few there)....we have no dog friendly beaches that I know of, here in Michigan, plus, we have NO OCEAN and NO Great lake by Detroit :(
Many of our National parks prohibit dogs too :(
You and Will, Eko and Penny are soooooo lucky!
We DO have Five Guys, but Mom stays away from there cause of their giant bag of fries!
Looks like a pawsome time!
ReplyDeleteThat's a wonderful solution for avoiding burnt paws at the beach. I wish that we had more dog friendly beaches around here too. But, we can only partake in the sand and sun during the winter when it's mostly snowy and icky. My family might once a year pack up a beach picnic but often the weather is not optimal. I still have fun anyways.
ReplyDelete♫ HAPPY BIRFDAY TO YOUR DADDY DOG ♫ OMD what a Day you did make of it... you even had your No walkin wagon out... WOW THAT is a GRAND way to Celebrate the day...
ReplyDeleteHi Oz! What an awesome way to spend Daddy Dog's birthday. Happy belated birthday to him. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Daddy Dog! You'd think Florida would have more doggy beaches in general. Hmpf.

What a perfect day Oz, happy birthday! The beach looks lovely but I see you still have to be on leash. Too bad about the bath! Love Dolly
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Dad Dog. We too have noticed in our search that many of the beaches around Jacksonville are not too dog friendly either - most of them do not allow dogs on the beach between 9-5 which means early morning or late night walkies. They do have many dog parks but we also noticed they are quite expensive - $90 annually to use just one of them. Mom isn't fond of dog parks - to many people don't clean up and the vet warned her they are terrible for picking up nasty things we doggies don't want.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birfday to your daddy too! Funny they both are April Fools!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
