Flea and Tick Prevention with #PetArmorPlus + Giveaway

This post is sponsored by Perrigo Animal Health and the BlogPaws Professional Pet Blogger Network.  I am being compensated for helping to spread the word about the launch of a new topical flea and tick treatment but Oz the Terrier only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers.  Perrigo Animal Health is not responsible for the content of this article.

In South Florida where I live, it is always buggy!  From mosquitoes and noseeums (biting midges) to spiders and Palmetto Bugs (yes, those are really cockroaches), there is always some type of bug trying to invade your space.  For us dogs, that means fleas and ticks trying to grab a free meal all year long which is why I am always on a flea and tick preventive.

Fight fleas and ticks with Pet Armor Plus for Dogs

If Spring has finally sprung where you live, then you know it is time to start thinking about flea and tick protection for your dog.  Parasite protection for dogs and cats should be a top priority  of responsible pet owners.  Bites from fleas and ticks can cause an allergic reaction and/or anemia as well as transmit diseases like Lyme Disease, Erlichiosis  and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever to your dog or cat.

The best protection is prevention.
We all know there is never just one flea or tick.  Those pesky critters multiply fast and can even lay dormant for months in carpets, bedding and cracks/crevices in your home.  That's why your best protection from an infestation is prevention.

The new PetArmor® Plus by Perrigo® Animal Health is an easy way to prevent fleas and ticks from grabbing a free meal off your dog or cat.  It contains Fipronil, the number 1 veterinarian-recommended active ingredient, and (s)-methoprene to protect your dog from fleas, flea eggs, flea larvae, ticks and chewing lice.  PetArmor Plus is fast-acting, long-lasting and waterproof, helping to stop the reinfestation cycle by killing flea eggs and larvae.

Did you know PetArmor Plus has the same active ingredients as FRONTLINE® Plus and is costs up to 40% less than vet prices?!?

Do not think for one moment that because PetArmor Plus costs less that it will not work.  I have been using PetArmor Plus for the last few weeks and I have been flea and tick free!  For those responsible pet owners who are on a tight budget, or have a multi-pet household, PetArmor Plus is a cost-friendly solution to flea and tick prevention.

Pet Armor Plus is easy, every month application to prevent fleas and ticks

PetArmor Plus is a simple one dose squeeze-on preventive that should be used monthly to prevent flea and tick infestation.  It is available in four different packages for different sized dogs: 4-22 lbs., 23-44 lbs., 45-88 lbs. and 89-132 lbs.  PetArmor Plus has separate products for dogs and cats so make sure you buy the correct product for your pet's species.  It can be used on puppies over 4 lbs. and kittens over 1.5 lbs that are 8 weeks of age or older.

Pet Armor Plus flea and tick preventive are species-specific products

Will you buy PetArmor Plus flea and tick preventive this Spring?
If you hate big bugs like I do and want to stay flea and tick free, then try your paw at winning a three (3) month supply of either the Cat-specific PetArmor Plus or the correct weight break of PetArmor Plus for your dog.  The Giveaway is open through 11:59 PM EST on April 14th.
PetArmor® Plus is not manufactured or distributed by Merial.  FRONTLINE® is a registered trademark of Merial.  Pricing comparison based on average veterinarian retail price survey of FRONTLINE® Plus (December 2014) and MSRP of PetArmor® Plus (January 2015).  Data on file.

  1. I have to use two separate preparations, one for tick and one for fleas, my Vet thinks that works best as a prevention. Maybe i should let them know about this product, I wonder if its available in the UK

  15. Well, since the oral flea and tick stuffs now makes me toss my cookies, I've had to switch back to the topical stuffs, and it is expensive! Butts is this works just as good, (and their website says it does!), then I am in! (Ma is all abouts savin' the green papers!)
I thinks the most important thing abouts a flea and tick med, is that it works! And with the drought, the fleas are gonna be jumpin', I tell ya!
    Kisses,

  25. Ticks have become a big problem in our area in recent years. I work in a vet's office, and see people coming in to remove ticks almost daily. I've always been vigilant about my own dogs, but it hit especially close to home recently. Shiloh's mother passed away just a few days ago from lyme disease. About a year ago, she was lost for nearly a month. Luckily, she found her way home and seemed unharmed, but her owners rushed her to the vet anyway to make sure. She had some minor frostbite and several ticks (even though the temperatures had been twenty below zero!). They tested for lyme but came up negative, and everything seemed great. This past week or so she suddenly started losing a lot of weight and then couldn't keep down any food. They rushed her to the vet where it was discovered she was in complete kidney and liver failure and there was nothing they could do. It was lyme nephrosis- a really, really bad complication from lyme disease. Though she had originally tested negative, I'm not sure they waited the recommended six weeks to test again, as it may not show up on a test right away. She was only 9, and perfectly healthy before this. I feel so horribly for her family, and have become a bit crazy about protecting my own dogs since. It's just not worth the risk when it's often preventable with vaccines, flea and tick meds, and routine tests for early detection!
