I was surprised how many of you were interested in knowing more about my new bed pads by Pet Therapeutics. Of course, I shouldn't be surprised at all...we dogs love a comfortable bed.
Pet Therapeutics was started for the love of one dog...Skylar. A Labrador Retriever, as Skylar aged he began to struggle with standing, lying down and even sleeping. Unable to find products to ease his discomfort, his pet parent developed an orthopedic support system built for comfort and draft-free sleeping. When Skylar loved his new bed, Pet Therapeutics was born!
Pet Therapeutics makes four (4) different pads to provide different types of comfort and healing to achy, aged pets - TheraWarm™ Self-Warming Reflective Pad, MagnaPETic™ Magnet Powered Relief Pad, OrthoPETic™ Orthopedic Memory Foam Pad and TheraCool™ Cooling Gel Pad. Each come with a protective No-Chomp cover made from breathable fabric.
I have always been a "hot dog" so I tend to lounge about in the cooler parts of the house. Unfortunately, I am not always comfortable on the hard tile floor in the cooler parts of the house. Even though Ma bought me a new plush dog bed, I rarely nap in it; it may be soft and comfy but it can get a bit warm for me. So, I chose two Pet Therapeutics pads that I knew would provide me some benefit.
The OrthoPETic Orthopedic Memory Foam Pad
This orthopedic pad for pets uses dimensional memory foam with pressure point construction to provide unmatched support, heat retention and sheer comfort. It is designed to help relieve back pain, help reduce inflammation and increase blood flow. It is also designed for a dog to get a comfortable and full night's sleep.
When Ma first unrolled it, I wasn't sure about it all. Then she zipped the No-Chomp cover on it and I made myself comfortable. It is soft and comfortable yet firm enough to provide great support.
The TheraCool Cooling Gel Pad
Dogs, now we are barking! I have used another, and much smaller, cooling pad before but that one does not even compare to the TheraCool.
The TheraCool pad is comprised of maximum depth, non-toxic gel cells that are designed to help reduce inflammation, provide support, ease pain and promote circulation. It, of course, comes with the No-Chomp zippered cover as well.
Before Ma could even get the No-Chomp cover on the TheraCool Pad, I was all over it and I was loving it! She couldn't get me off the pad to even put the cover on it. This pad is big enough for me to spread out, roll over and then roll back again.
All Pet Therapeutics pads come in three sizes - Small (7" x 10", for pets 15 lbs. or less); Medium (13" x 13", for pets 15-35 lbs.); and Large (23" x 36", for pets 35+ lbs.). Both my OrthoPETic and TheraCool pads are the Large size which is great because they fit perfectly in my soft-sided crate.
Ma has stacked them one on top of the other in my crate, with the TheraCool on top. We aren't sure if they should be stacked like that but I can assure you, my crate is now a super comfy place to rest, nap and sleep! The pads provide great support and the Gel Pad keeps me nice and cool.
And even though I didn't get the other two Pet Therapeutics pads, let me tell you briefly about them, just in case they are the ones you would need.
TheraWarm Self-Warming Reflective Pad
TheraWarm warming pads provide soothing comfort by using thermal reflective self-warming technology - the foil-like blankets you see people wrapped in when they need to get warm - with integrated foam construction to keep your pet warm and cozy.
MagnaPETic Magnet Powered Relief Pad
MagnaPETic relief pads are specifically designed to provide therapeutic comfort to pets experiencing chronic pain or discomfort after a trauma or injury. There are many 800-gauss therapeutic magnets in the pad to help stimulate acupuncture points.
All four Pet Therapeutics pads can be purchased online through Enchanted Home Pet, 1-800-PetMeds, Amazon and WalMart. (Prices vary by size as well as by merchant.)
Do you think Pet Therapeutics Pads can provide you
some needed comfort and healing? Which one would you choose?
Absolutely awesome review Oz! We definitely have to check this out!! Thank you for sharing and Happy Thursday!
ReplyDeleteBoth of the ones you have sound awseome - sadly over the years I have bought Reilly every kind of bed imaginable and he has refused to sleep or use any of them - he just likes the floor. We have tried a couple of different types of cooling mats as both boys get very warm - but again neither would use them. I did make Denny a memory foam bed which his will use occasionally but he too seems to prefer the cold floor - they are loving our new house which is tiled throughout
ReplyDeleteOz that was super interesting... I think I love that selfwarming pad... that sounds like being my own heating ... without electricity or anything... it's just me, right? Thanks for a super review, I'm sure there are some friends who love this pads as much as me :O)

These pads would have been great when Pip was still with us - the cooling ones in the summer and the self warming for the winter. Between his arthritis and his heart condition I'm sure these would have done wonders
ReplyDeleteAt the moment, we think the cooling one would be good. The floor can be darned unconforable at times.
ReplyDeleteKatie would choose the one for pain relief for sure.
ReplyDeleteThe best invention are born out of love.
