Here's a big reason why I love living in South Florida: dog-friendly restaurants. So long as it is a nice day to sit on the patio, I can go out to eat with Ma and Daddy-dog like I did last weekend.
That's me under the table swing at JByrd's Muddy Waters, one of our favorite hidden-away-in-a-strip-mall Floribbean (that's Florida and Caribbean) restaurants. Both the inside and the outdoor patio are decorated in a Key West pirate theme - it is bright and bold and a little bit quirky. We love it!
Muddy Waters has some of the best Florida seafood. I helped Daddy-dog and Uncle Robbie place an order for the conch fritters appetizer. Not the healthiest choice on the menu but they sure are delicious dipped in either regular tartar sauce or Muddy's Creole tartar sauce.
Our waitress Taylor brought me a bowl of icy cold water. She was super friendly and we even found out she likes to go camping and boating like us. Woof-hoo. Ma, Daddy-dog and Uncle Robbie sat and talked for hours while I kept a watchful eye on the servers delivering food to nearby tables from under the table.
Finally, everybody ordered some food and I hoped that someone would order fish so I could have a taste. I love fish. Do you? Daddy-dog ordered a burger but Ma, she ordered the Dolphin Fingers so I knew some fish was coming my way. (And no, it's not Dolphin the mammal...it is Dolphin the fish...Mahi Mahi.)
We spent a couple hours at Muddy Waters, eating and talking and enjoying a relaxing Saturday afternoon. Ma and Daddy-dog were very proud of me because I was so well behaved - I only barked at one other dog once.
Do you ever go to dog-friendly restaurants where you live?

Mommy and Daddy love the pup-friendly places and they go a lot. BUTT they never take me or brudder Max 'cause we "talk" too much. Sissies Autumn, Pepper, and Shelby ALWAYS get to go and they ALWAYS get their own burger. Not Fair, I say! Not Fair!
ReplyDeleteWe must agree - although Amelia Island is not dog friendly in terms of it's park it has LOTS and LOTS of dog friendly restaurants. Mom says she would love to take me but is a bit worried I would be a too noisy and I do LOVE to say hello to everyone (rather loudly) and let them know I am there :) Denny would just hide under the table or chair and try to make himself invisible :)
ReplyDeleteWE don't have dog furendly restaurants here.... DARN IT...
ReplyDeleteOMD Mahi Mahi... THAT is some Fine Dining ... you are soooooo lucky.
It's so cool that you can join your people out at restaurants like that! We have no place (that Mom knows about!) like that here where we live in Pa/Nj. Well...there was ONE little cafe type thing, but it ended up closing down about two years ago. Mom says they had the BEST mocha lattes!
ReplyDeleteWe don't think Iowa is that dog advanced yet....most of the dogs here HUNT and ride in the back of big pick up trucks with gun racks...we pugs are an unusual site to see. We have nevers had fish either. Sigh we live in a bubble.

Law has it that no dogs are allowed unless it's an outdoor patio. Sure, we'll be right there and take advantage of that in June in Arizona.
ReplyDeleteMa and Daddy Dog and you are very lucky to live in such a lovely area which is twice a nice because of their love a pups!! My peeps have eaten at Seaboard Cafe every Saturday for at least the last 15 years. They have outdoor dining for pups and peeps too
ReplyDeletehugs madi your bfff
We don't have much of anything around here that's dog friendly. I like the photo of just you and the guys hanging out doing some male bonding. I likes hanging out with my dad doing man stuff too.
ReplyDeleteAroo to you,
Sully
Looks like a fun place to eat. Mom doesn't do seafood, but I'm sure they have other stuff on the menu.
ReplyDeleteBoy Oz you are making Mom want to move! Michigan needs to learn from Florida! Mom LOVES fish, I have never tasted it, but if you say it is good, then I know that it is! Barks and licks and love, Dakota
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely place to go eat. I would like to have places like that around me.
ReplyDeleteWowzers, does that look like fun! I didn't know dolphins had fingers, though! ;)
ReplyDeleteI love fish! I'll bet I could eat a whole tuna!

ReplyDeleteOh man, those dolphin fingers look delish! Lucky you to be able to go to restaurants. I wish more restaurants in the US allowed pupsters in them like they do back home in Europe. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love to go out to eat with mom and dad and you were so well behaved! I get a little too interested in other's food but I'll usually get some fries to keep me under the table. Some restaurants make the dogs sit outside the fence I don't get that at all. Love Dolly
ReplyDeleteRing Ring Ring Ding ~ We had one I really liked but sadly it closed it doors. Your digs look terrific. I can eat hamburger.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a friend
