Dog-Friendly Plans for 4th of July
1. Do something early. Play in the backyard, go to your favorite park or take your dog dog for a nice swim during the day before all the holiday commotion begins. This is great for tiring out a dog who tends to become anxious or fearful once the booming of the fireworks starts.
2. Make dog-friendly treats. Scraps from the grill can upset a dog's stomach so having some fun, homemade dog-treats, like my Strawberry Banana SuperGravy Dixie Pups, will be a healthy and cooling alternative.
3. Spend quiet time together. Before you head out for the big fireworks display, spend some quality quiet time with your dog. It will be soothing for both of you.
And remember these 4 Pet Safety Tips for 4th of July to help keep your dog safe and secure.
Do you have dog-friendly plans for this 4th of July?
I have some frozen treats in the freezer right now for Shiner. Found some cute silicone molds the other day!

We are sticking pretty close to home this fourth of July. Our new neighborhood is pretty quiet so Ruby should be fine - though fortunately, she doesn't seem to bothered by loud noises.
ReplyDeleteOz - you have the most adorable face - we hope you have lots of fun this weekend
ReplyDeleteWe're too busy. We're celebrating Her birthday on the 5th.
ReplyDeleteMom says she will be taking us for a couple of long walks today and tomorrow. We think we spotted some Frosty Paws in the freezer - they MUST be for us, right? And the Mom and Dad will stay home with us tomorrow night as Ciara is terrified of fireworks.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful AND safe 4th of July.
Woos - Ciara and Lightning
We are going for a run in the morning unless it is too hot then our pawrents will not take us. It has been in the low 100's as of late and if it doesn't cool off enough we can't go. We aren't scared of fireworks but right now they are banned in our area. Some people ignore the ban but it is much quieter.

We hang out during the day, Mom goes to the neighborhood party for a while, then we go to bed early. Mom can watch the fireworks from her bed as our house is up on higher ground.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a Happy Fourth! We're staying home. We can enjoy the fireworks from the back porch without having to hear all the noise.
ReplyDeleteHappy Fourth. We will watch TV
