Proper Nutrition for a Proper Adventure #PinnacleHealthyPets

I know many of you, like me, are adventure dogs.  We love traveling with our pet parents whether it is a visit to the park, a day at the beach or camping and hiking on a long weekend.  Unlike many of you, my adventures come to a screeching halt in the Summer - the Florida heat and humidity are just too much to really enjoy the outdoors.  Soon however, the weather will be more tolerable and my adventures will again resume.

Oz the Terrier goes on a proper adventure with proper nutrition

This post is sponsored by Pinnacle and the BlogPaws Professional Pet Blogger Network.   I am being compensated for helping create awareness about Pinnacle's Newly Formulated Grain Free Dog Food, but Oz the Terrier only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers.

Aside from being able to tolerate whatever the weather throws at you, to have a proper adventure a dog needs the right equipment, training and most importantly, the proper nutrition.  No matter what style of food your dog eats - kibble, canned, home-cooked or raw - your dog's food must be able to provide him/her with the nutrients necessary for their adventure activities.

Proper Pet Nutrition
A high-quality pet food will provide your dog with the nutrients he/she needs for growth, energy and maintenance of bodily processes.  Nutrients like:

Protein - made up of amino acids, they are the building blocks that create strong muscles and repair body tissues.  Remember: a dog can only make half of the amino acids he needs, the other amino acids must be provided by the diet.

Fats - a balance of fatty acids provide energy, as well as help a dog to absorb certain vitamins.

Carbohydrates - along with fiber, provide a dog with energy for muscles and also help with digestion.

Antioxidants - a dog's major defense system against free radicals and oxidative stress.  Antioxidants are important to protect dogs from tissue damage and disease.

  10. We love how grain free is the norm now. Our Wyatt Ray would never hunt a stalk of corn in the wild. Grain free makes so much sense!
