Halloween is a fun time of year when everyone, even dogs, can dress up and be silly or scary. I know I don't mind wearing a tee shirt or sweatshirt, but I am not very keen on costumes because they can be bulky and awkward. So I was happy when the opportunity to try PetPaint came along.
PetPaint is a color hairspray for dogs that is specially-formulated, dog-safe and veterinarian approved. It is an affordable and safe alternative for those pet parents who want to dress up their dogs who do not like to wear costumes.
PetPaint comes is fun colors like Beagle Blue, Greyhound Green, Poodle Pink, Pug Purple and of course my signature color, Old Dog Orange. PetPaint even offers stencils to help you with your painting designs.
Since I am a dark-colored dog (less my grey hair), I took PetPaint's advice of doing a coat of white under my color of choice for my heart design. It helped the orange show up better. Now I can wear my Heart on my Fur whenever I want!
PetPaint can do whole body designs too, like my friend Shiner at Pawsitively Pets who was painted to look like a tiger. You can also use the "chalking" method like my friend Sugar the Golden Retriever, to give your dog a pop of color.
PetPaint is an easy to apply and washes off a dog's fur easily with a bit of shampoo. Ma also noticed that it easily washes off her hands with a bit of soap and water.
Would you paint your pet? Would you use a stencil or paint free-hand?
OOH!!! We LOVE that!! It would be so much better than these ridiculous costumes that mama always puts on us!! We really NEED to tell her about this right away!! Thanks Oz! We would like to have hearts too! Looks great on you!

ReplyDeleteWe are just like you, Oz - we don't like costumes at all unless they are added virtually. We heard about this paint the other day, maybe we could give it some consideration:) Does it come in mud shades??? BOL.

ReplyDeleteAw, that's really cute, Oz! And what a good sport you are to get painted like that. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking I should paint my sisters while they are sleeping and see how they like my designs? Actually, Mom has used pet paint a time or two for some photoshoots, but other than that, we aren't into being painted. We will wear the costume. Your heart looks nice on you.
ReplyDeleteCute. We just don't like when humans paint their whole doggy

Pierre would be super simple to paint and now that I have read your idea about the white bottom coat, so would Bentley! I'm thinking they'd look great with L.S.U. purple & gold!
ReplyDeleteThat is a nice tip to do the white under the orange! Maybe I should have tried it when I did Shiner's tiger look. The orange kind of blended in with her already orange furs.
ReplyDeleteOh wow!!! I am loving that!!!!!
