As Ma spoke with a friendly Petco employee, she said had she known she would have brought the products we had been collecting to make a donation. The employee's response made Ma and I so happy: Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue is MY Petco store's charity of choice and they accept donations of products for them every day of the year!
So, this past Wednesday, Ma and I went to my local Petco and dropped off this box filled with dog products for Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue. We put aside a lot of products I receive, especially if they are food or treats that contain my number 1 allergen, Chicken, to donate to shelters and/or rescues.
The box we donated had some great goodies inside like dog bowls, leashes, bandanas, sample packs of kibble, dental treats, training treats as well as shampoos, conditioners and ear washes. I sure hope our favorite rescue can find good use for all the products to make some dogs who are waiting for their forever homes happy.
Does your Petco collect donations for your favorite shelter or rescue?
I am joining Black and White Sunday hosted by good friends Sugar the Golden Retriever and Dachshund Nola.
What a good idea and your Petco is a great shop :)

We don't have a Petco but we do have a locally owned store that accepts donations for our local humane society. If we don't have time to run them directly to the humane society , we drop them off there.
ReplyDeletePAWsome! We are going to check. We got lots of goodies to donate too. Golden Woofs
ReplyDeleteThat's good to know. We'll check our Petco to see if they accept donations.

What an awesome collection of things to donate! Sadly, there isn't a Petco near where I and Wesley live, but there are a few smaller private-owned pet shops. Almost all of them collect donations and will hold events to benefit the local shelter(s).
ReplyDeleteYes, we've donated. Our Pet Barn works closely with the RSPCA and helps by having an Adoption Centre for dogs and cats who need new homes. Our local grocery store also has donation bins. It's great that we can help.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea. Our Tractor Supply Co. takes donations for our local shelter. ♥ We are saving our chicken food and treat samples for our Humane Society too.
ReplyDeleteWe are HUGE fans of Petco (they are our preferred choice of large pet store as opposed to Petsmart. Cody was adopted from a Petco adoption drive in 2007. Our local Petco is also taking donations and I thank you for this reminder......I am going to head over there myself xoxo DakotasDen
ReplyDeleteGood deed for the day!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have a local Petco unfortunately! But one of the local grocery stores collects for our local humane society. That makes it easier for me because the Humane Society is quite a bit out of the way for me to go to, which means I only go once or twice a year. But I can make more frequent donations when it's easier at the grocery store.

Yep! Our Petco charity alternates between the 2 local rescues! We actually live closer to the shelter than to PEtco, so we usually take our donations straight to the shelter :-).

We don't have a Petco near us but the Pet Supplies Plus that is real close hosts our rescue every week for their meet and greets. We're sure your rescue will be very grateful for your donation.
ReplyDeleteThat's so nice of you to donate! :) Didn't know we can donate at Petco! Thank you for letting us know! <3

ReplyDeleteWe have a real nice Petco not too far from us too. We love that they have a big bin right in front to collect stuff. It's the first place we go after BlogPaws or when we get a lot of stuff in the mail. Love Dolly
ReplyDeleteOur PetCo, and our Chuck and Don's both collect donations.
ReplyDeleteThat was so very nice of you oz!
ReplyDeleteThat was so nice of you guys. Our local petco always has a donation bin up front. I save up goodies as well, and donate most of them to the shelter I adopted Faolan from.
