Red Roof Inn has over 400 hotels where they value every guest, even furry ones. That's right, every Red Roof Inn is pet-friendly and will never charge you additional fees for bringing your pet which made it a perfect option for our last-minute hotel stay.
We found the Red Roof Inn to be very welcoming and very clean. The room was spacious and the bed was super comfy for Ma and Daddy-dog. We all enjoyed our stay at Red Roof Inn!
Our only suggestion to Red Roof Inn would be: if a Red Roof Inn has a designated Pet Walk Area like the one we stayed at, then they should encourage guests to scoop their dog's poop by placing a sign as well as a Poop Bag Station. There were one or two shoes that were ruined by stinky dog poop from the designated Pet Walk Area on our visit.

This is great to know, thank you Oz! I'm attending the BlogPaws conference in Arizona this summer and my humans and I plan to drive from Minnesota! We will keep an eye out for Red Roof Inns along the way! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my pet peeve about other dog owners. When we've been places that allow dogs, a few people are all it takes to ruin it for the rest of us. Even the rest of us dog owners hate stepping in poop. This is one of the big reasons more venues aren't pet friendly.
ReplyDeleteit's great that more and more howltels accept fourlegged visitors, like your Red Roof Inn. And I agree for free poop bags and for encouraging the peeps to remove the recycled food. My grandpawrents where on a cruise once were dogs were allowed on board. Sadly the walking deck was in a bad shape soon... I think it's an acommodation and we have to make sure that dogs are welcome in future there too, so we should remove our stuff.
ReplyDeleteI'll never understand why people won't scoop the poop! It is especially important at places such as hotels that accept pets, because if the place gets too many complaints about the un-scooped poop, they may just decide to ban pets! Then where will you stay with your pup?
ReplyDeleteWhen they travel, it is usually La Quinta inns. They do have dog areas complete with poopie bags.

The have stayed in many dog friendly hotels but yes we agree - the designated dog areas are often gross - we don't understand why people can't pick up their pets

We haven't but we will consider it in our travel plans. No extra charge for the boys is money on our pocket and we can all use that! People should be ashamed to stay at a hotel and not pooper scoop. Tsk, tsk.

ReplyDeleteThat is one thing my Mommy really complains about....People just don't scoop the poop! Yes, me and brudder Max stayed at the Red Roof Inn before. We enjoyed it. But then we found the LaQuinta Inns and liked those even more. The rooms are much bigger and they also don't charge extra for 4-legged guests. :o)

ReplyDeleteWe have only stayed at La Quinta's so far, and only 6 out of the 10 we stayed at last summer had added Poop Bag stations....but they were the newer built or remodeled hotels so hopefully they are updating all their properties!

We travel constantly with our 2 dogs & are always looking for good dog friendly lodging. I only stayed at one Red Roof Inn and it was OK, but this one looks very nice. That stinks stepping in poop! Aaak!! Why do some people still avoid taking responsibility!?
