In Loving Memory: McKinley

Yesterday, our good friends Laura and Andy lost there beloved McKinley to a sudden swelling in his brain.  Despite getting him to the vet quickly, they were unable to help him.  So today's post is for McKinley...a dog I never met but that Ma dog-sat for quite often.

A Pet’s Peace

I have left you now
but please don’t be sad
you gave me all the love you had.
You did so much for me in my time here
and I’ll always hold those precious times near.
I know someday you’ll find love again
and into your life will come a new friend.
Your heart will heal, though you’ll never forget
memories like the first time we met.
Memories are wonderful, so keep them close
and remember all the good times the most.
Up in the Heaven for animals is where I’ll be
and someday in the future, each other we will see.
I am at peace now, so please don’t be sad
you gave me all the love you had.

    Oh No Oz...we are so very sorry to read about McKinley's passing. He was a handsome boy!
    Losing a family member is hard enough but especially when it is so sudden and unexpected.

    Time doesn't necessarily take care of everything. It's been 15 months and we're still tearing up over Kyla. Was it worth the sadness. McKinley's peeps should have the same answer we do--YES.
