We are happy to join this special Flower Friday in memory of Blogville's sweet Dory.
First, I am sharing one of our favorite bouquets we ever received. They came from our friend Princess Rosy Rue from Rosy Reports. It is one of our favorites because we love all the colors in the bouquet!
Now, here in South Florida we haven't had much rain so many of our flowers are looking sickly or are just not blooming yet. However, our bougainvillea are always in bloom! We have two colors - purple and pink.
Our ground orchid (we do not know what kind of orchid it is - if you know, tell us in the comments) is always in bloom too. It is hard to tell from the photo but it reminds us of the color of fire because it has bright orange and yellow.
Then, in our front yard, we have our Hibiscus trees. The trees are very spindly but they always have pretty flowers on them too.
I hope Angel Dory and her family enjoy our South Florida flowers. We are moving into Summer which means these, along with a few other flowers, will grow and bloom. The flowers you all plant in the Spring and Summer we must plant in the Fall and Winter due to the extreme heat.
If you have flowers to share, join Flowers for Dory Flower Friday!
Dory would love all these Florida Flowers, and I chose our hibiscus for her for the same reason you did, drought has everything not blooming, but we have the same two colors of bougainvillea as you do. we are in the middle of Florida

ReplyDeleteYou get to grow those tropical flowers! They are so gorgeous. I don't think I ever saw a ground orchid but I know Florida is famous for its variety of orchids. There's even a book about an orchid hunter. I read it but can't think of the title (maybe "The Orchid Hunter"?)
