We are honored to join {This Moment} See Beautiful tribute to SUGAR.
We met Sugar, her mom Rosalyn and her dog-dad at BarkWorld back in 2013. I recognized SUGAR right away – her beautiful Golden fur and those purple PAWS boots. Being a small blog at the time, I was so nervous to meet THE one and only Sugar and her pet parents – I mean, they were big blog stars even back then and I thought they won’t want anything to do with us “little” people.
I couldn’t have been more wrong! Sugar was just the sweetest dog, full of life, Golden love and lots of big, happy smiles. Her mom and dog-dad were just as sweet. They seemed genuinely happy to meet us.
Over the years, I have become great friends with Sugar’s mom and have had the privilege of traveling and rooming with her at conferences and expos. More importantly, I have had the honor of being roommates with Sugar too. Talk about exciting…I took every opportunity to get me some Golden Love, Hugs, Cuddles and Woofs from Sugar whenever I got to see her.
Though our hearts broke when Sugar left for the Rainbow Bridge, I know her beautiful, gentle, loving Golden spirit is watching over us all. I treasure every Golden Hug and Woof I ever received from Sugar and I treasure her gentle, guiding nature to Oz all those years ago.
For SUGAR
Nothing Gold Can Stay
Robert Frost (1874-1963)
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
